Pump up the volume
Ok, so I left my friend Heidi's place the other night, and realized that I had other things on my agenda, and that it might still be possible to make my other obligations if I employed the use of a cab. So, I stepped out to the curb, and flagged down the first cab that I saw. (THis took a while, I wasn't in the most heavily trafficked part of the city.) When the cab had slowed down and was turning around to pick me up, all I could hear was this loud thumping bass sound, definately caused by loud hip-hop music. I looked around for the source fo this music, but to my amazement, the only car nearby was the cab! So I get in the car, and the cabbie immediately turned down the volume. I told him where I wanted to go, and then asked him, "So... why'd you turn down the music?" He then turned and looked at me, and with a conspiratory smile, asked me if I was sure that I didn't mind. After I allayed his fears, he jacked the volume up, turned on the loudness, and switched on the subwoofers in the back. Now, Getting in, i knew that the music was loud, but woofers???? I asked the cabbie if there were in fact woofers in the car, at which point he half laughed, half giggled, and said, "Man, my whole trunk is speakers. You can't get shit else in there!" So I sat back, grinning, enjoying my ride home, and becoming increasingly entertained as the cabbie proceeded to turn the volume up further. Suddenly, out of nowhere, giggling like a kid with a new toy, the cabbie reached out and fired up what turned out to be a DVD player! We were ripping through Toronto at 120 Km/h, (the limit's 50) blasting Dr. Dre, and watching Bollywood movies! Now there's a night to remember. So, if you ever have the good luck to flag down this cabbie.. (he works for Crown) ask him to crank it.
The BEST CABBIE EVERRRRRR
